Our Business

We are working on the development of Japan's first large-scale offshore wind farm in general sea areas off the coast of Noshiro City, Mitane Town and Oga City, Akita Prefecture, after the successful bidding in December 2021 by which we were selected as the developer and operator in accordance with the Act on Promoting the Utilization of Sea Areas for the Development of Marine Renewable Energy Power Generation Facilities.
This project will have 38 wind turbines installed with a power output of 13 MW (megawatts) each and in total 494 MW, which can supply power to about 330,000 households.
Currently, with the generous support from regional fishermen and other local stakeholders, we are conducting the preparatory works for the construction, such as seabed surveys, permit procedures including environmental impact assessments, and construction design, with the aim of starting operation in 2028.
In addition, we have started various initiatives in cooperation with local stakeholders for materializing non-temporary, sustainable and self-sustaining coexisting measures.
